Body casting with Stephen Richard

SR 21ST & 22ND MARCH

One way to get realistic human forms is to take a cast with plaster of Paris bandages. This is a simple means of accurately recording a form for a sculpture. It is a multi-step process so the methods of preparing the model, taking the cast, drying the resulting form and making the positive in a permanent form will be experienced. Results of previous castings will be demonstrated. There will be a model supplied for the class. Some body part casting using alginate will be explored. Saturday 21st & Sunday 22nd April. Held at the Verrier studio 10am till 4pm
